Note about Religious School Session and Classroom Placement
The following is an explanation of the Temple Beth Or Religious School Session and Classroom Placement Policy.
Session Placement
Session placement in Religious School is based on your preference, availability and the TBO school lottery. When you mail in your registration form, you will be asked to select the session you would prefer your child(ren) attend.
If your registration form is received by April 11, 2010*, we will make every attempt to place your child where requested. However, if more people request a session than we have room for in a particular grade, we will use the lottery system to determine the session in which children are placed.
If your registration material is received after April 11, 2010, your child will be placed where space is available after all children who submitted forms prior to April 11 are placed. Therefore, it is imperative that your registration material be received by April 11, 2010* regardless of which session you prefer.
Classroom Placement Within a Session
Classroom placement is based upon many factors. These include the date when the registration materials are received, teacher recommendations, creating a balanced classroom with regard to boy/girl ratio, behavioral issues and learning ability. At Temple Beth Or, our goal is to have the best learning environment possible.
If you feel that your child will have an enhanced experience in Religious School if he/she is placed with a friend, we would like to know that. Please make your request on the registration form where indicated. Please note that these requests must be reciprocal (the request must be on the registration form of both children) in order to be considered a valid request. While we cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled, we will do everything that we can to accommodate your wishes.
If your registration material is received after April 11, 2010, your child will be placed in a classroom where space is available after all children who submitted forms prior to April 11 are placed. Therefore, it is imperative that your registration material be received by April 11, 2010.
Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on an individual basis.
