Important Policy Regarding School Closings

There are two categories for school closings --

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS and SNOW DAYS

· EMERGENCY School Closings

These emergencies will be handled through an emergency phone chain, as well as the policy listed below for snow closings (except for the time deadlines since an emergency can happen at any time)

· SNOW School Closings

Note this Policy:

There is not an emergency phone chain

for snow days

Parents will be informed of snow school closing in the following way:

An e-mail will be sent out to all of the parents of Religious School students notifying them of the closure. BE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT E-MAIL! The religious school office will send out a test e-mail when Religious School gets underway.

The closing will be noted on the home page of Temple Beth Or’s website: www.templebethornj.org

The message on the Religious School answering machine will say that the Religious School is closed for the day; 201-722-0269 or call the main office – you will be directed to a specific extension for information – 201-664-7422.
Final decision regarding school closing may be made no later than 7:00 AM on Sundays and 2:00 PM on Tuesdays & Thursday.

At ALL TIMES, it is up to the discretion of the parents to determine local driving conditions regarding the safety of driving a child to Religious School.
